Bella Logachova

Bella Logachova (b. Mariupol, Ukraine; l. Kharkiv, Ukraine) graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art, where she currently teaches Media Arts. She is a member of the collective SOSka Group and has exhibited her work throughout Ukraine and Europe. Her series “ARtNUO (New Ukrainian Ornaments)” received the Grand Prix at the IX International Triennale in 2015.

Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea and ongoing war in eastern Ukraine drove Bella Logachova to center her work on political issues. Her artwork is concerned with events in Ukraine – from the 2014 Revolution of Dignity through the ongoing conflict. She employs a vocabulary of traditional Ukrainian folk ornament melded with digital imagery to reveal a new reality in Ukraine.

These prints are presented for sale in conjunction with the solo exhibition Living through War: Works from Kharkiv by Bella Logachova at the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University, Lewiston, NY, on view through June 11, 2023

Bella Logachova will donate proceeds from the sale of these prints to support the Ukrainian war effort.
