Johanna Inman

Johanna Inman (Philadelphia, PA) works predominantly with light sensitive materials. As an alternative to working with traditional film or digital cameras Inman’s process explores the line between tradition and technology by using a scanner to photographically capture images. Her recent work investigates the conventions of scale, intimacy and time as they are transformed through the photographic process.

Inman received an MFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art. Her work has been in a number of local and international group exhibitions. Selected solo exhibitions include Faded, Cracked, Torn at St. Joseph’s University, You Can Search Me which was featured as part of Fleisher Art Memorial’s Challenge Exhibition Series, and Living Space, a collaborative video installation at Eastern State Penitentiary.
