Jennifer Grimyser uses photographic layering and humor to explore text and image relationships. In the print "Shhh...", fleeting notes are posted on a telephone pole, only the onomatopoeia word "Shhh..." with quotations marks seems to be in opposition to the public communication board.

Jennifer Grimyser was born in Milwaukee, WI and received a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from Hunter College. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in numerous exhibitions including Kunstverein Wolfsburg, Kunsthalle Exnergasse, Lesley Heller Workspace, and Islip Art Museum. She has been awarded multiple studio residencies and fellowships and her work is a part of several collections including Walker Arts Center, Rhode Island School of Design, and Yale University. Jennifer Grimyser continues to work with photography, drawing, and book making in New York City.
