Marianne Dages

Marianne Dages (Philadelphia, PA) is an artist whose body of work focuses on modes of communication and translation and the exploration of the unknown. Her work combines traditional letterpress techniques with hand-drawn and photographic imagery to create a personal and idiosyncratic dictionary of symbols and preoccupations. A skilled letterpress printer and bookbinder, Marianne is the owner of Huldra Press studio in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.

Marianne received her BFA in Photography from The University of the Arts and studied book arts, papermaking, and letterpress for two years at Penland School of Crafts in Penland, NC as a Core Fellowship student. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is included in the collections of The University of Pennsylvania, Samford University, St. Bride's Foundation in London, and in private collections worldwide.
