Alex Lukas

Alex Lukas (Philadelphia, PA) is known for his post-apocalyptic disaster scenes which are an intricate mix of drawing painting and print. In addition, he has created an impressive body of 'zines and silkscreens which offer a wry take on comic book heroes including Batman, Swamp Thing and the Hulk.

Lukas is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Providence. He has exhibited in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Stockholm and has created illustrations for Swindle Quarterly, The Village Voice, The Drama, The New York Times Book Review and Street World. He has written for Apenest, Juxtapoz, Providence’s The Agenda and Swindle. He is a member of the artist's collective Space 1026 in Philadelphia.
