Young-Sook Jang

Young-Sook Jang (South Korea) is an intaglio printmaker who creates minimalist landscapes with simple lines and small areas of soft color. Her etchings capture the true and dual essence of nature: simple and complex, seductive and menacing, vulnerable and impenetrable, in her representation of the endless cycle of growth and decay.

Jang has shown extensively in group and solo exhibitions all over South Korea, Japan, Spain, Yugoslavia, Brazil, France and the US. She was included in The World Print Exhibition, San Francisco; Seoul Art Grand Exhibition; Seoul Metropolitan Museum of Art; the 5th Mini Print International, Barcelona among many others. She had a solo show at The Print Center in 2004.
