Anna Jeretic

Anna Jeretic (Chartrettes, France) is an American printmaker inspired by the intaglio printmaking process and the beauty of color variations obtainable using copper plates for etching. The ink and oxidization provide endless opportunities to experiment with different techniques. In addition to her prints, she is in the process of writing a poetic manual called The Copper Plate. Her early work includes soft ground etchings of a wide array of animals.
Jeretic is originally from Haverford, PA and graduated from Bryn Mawr College, PA. She has also studied at the Arnecliffe Studio, Paris and the Accademia Raffaello, Urbino. She began etching in 1990 and her animal etchings and paintings earned her the top prize at the International Art Fair, Nemours in 2006. She currently teaches etching at the Fontainebleau Art School and has been in selected exhibitions in Philadelphia, New Hampshire and throughout France.
