Anna Jeretic

Anna Jeretic (near Fontainebleau, France) is an American printmaker inspired by the intaglio printmaking process and the beauty of color variations obtainable using copper plates for etching. The ink and oxidization provide endless opportunities to experiment with different techniques. In addition to her prints, Jeretic produced an illustrated poetic manual for intaglio print-making, La plaque de cuivre. In 2021, she produced another document, The Philosophy of Light, written in both French and English, about her technique of color printing.

Jeretic is originally from Haverford, PA and graduated from Bryn Mawr College, PA. She also studied at the Accademia Raffaello, Urbino. She began etching in 1990 and her animal etchings and paintings earned her the top prize at the International Art Fair, Nemours in 2006. She currently teaches etching at the Fontainebleau Art School and has been in selected exhibitions in Philadelphia, New Hampshire and throughout France.
