Keith Sharp

Keith Sharp's (Media, PA) humorous and surreal works are documents of personal performances mounted in natural settings using props he creates. He physically constructs scenes or costume, creating images that cause the viewer to do a double take, blurring the line between reality and performance.  

Sharp received a BFA in Photography and an MAT in Art Education from the University of the Arts.He has had solo exhibitions at the DelawareCenter for Contemporary Art; SilverEyeCenter for Photography, Pittsburgh;  Philadelphia International Airport; Fotofest, Houston and Muse Gallery, Philadelphia. Group shows including Robin Rice Gallery, NY; Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, Tampa; Panopticon Gallery, Boston; The Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins, CO; Griffin Museum of Photography, MA and WoodmereArt Museum. His work is found in many permanent collections such as the Free Library of Philadelphia; Griffin Museum of Photography, MA; Grolier Club Library, NY; Rochester Institute of Technology; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Allentown Art Museum; Smithsonian American Art Museum and the West Collection at SEI Investments.
