Kip Deeds

Kip Deeds’ (Newtown, PA) prints utilize personal observations and experiences, as well as stories of history, to create an artistic treatment capable of revealing psychological truths not accessible from factual accounts. With the freedom to present both fact and fiction, Deeds creates alternative histories that spring from a combination of internal perception and physical reality. He believes it is his responsibility as an artist to uncover these unique points of view.

Deeds received a BFA from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and an MFA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Kip has taught at Princeton University, Princeton, NJ; the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA and Interlochen Center for the Arts, Interlochen, MI. Deeds has exhibited his artwork nationally and has presented work in nine solo exhibits since 2001. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Newark Museum, Newark, NJ and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
