Michael Froio

Michael Froio (Williamstown, NJ) is a highly-skilled large format photographer, who produces crystalline carbon pigment prints. Froio’s interest lies in documenting our regional social and economic histories through the documentation of the remnants of objects of former significance fallen into disrepair. These including blighted pieces of once glorious urban architecture and the tracks and small towns along Pennsylvania's Main Line Railroad, once a central artery of commerce and population magnet.

Froio received a BFA from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA where he currently teaches. Selected exhibitions include Perkins Center for the Arts, Moorestown, NJ and the Woodmere Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA where his work is part of the museum’s permanent collection.
